In Tamaulipas, a curious case has been recorded in the world of drug trafficking, where drugs were found hidden in boxes of tostadas. According to the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), two individuals were arrested while transporting more than 300 packages of nopal and chia tostadas that concealed methamphetamine.
In this operation, agents from the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) of the Attorney General's Office (FGR) intervened, along with elements of the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR), and the National Guard (GN). During an inspection at the checkpoint “Y” in San Fernando, it was discovered that in a tractor-trailer attached to a dry box transporting the aforementioned tostadas, there were 389 packages that hid around 700.20 kilos of methamphetamine.
After informing the two detainees about the reasons for their arrest and reading them their constitutional rights, along with the seized drugs and the vehicle, they were made available to the corresponding Public Prosecutor's Office. This instance will be responsible for determining their legal situation and starting the investigation of the case.
Recently, in another incident related to drug trafficking, an individual was arrested at the border with the United States for transporting liquid methamphetamine in bottles of a well-known brand of mineral water. It seems that drug traffickers are resorting to increasingly unusual methods in their illicit operations.
